lyrics

Anchor Pt. I

My anchor is pulling me under with the weight of my arrogance, my need to escape. These pay off the ransom posted by my sense of community. This is the consequence of choosing not to feel, choosing to dissociate.

I’ll bury this truth, for they preach a gospel which none may refute while we’re ushered, out of sight, behind the blue curtain.

While we try to find the common ground between ourselves and what keeps them in the lead, they’ll write the rules by which we play and we’ll have to trust in them. We’ll find we are the problem here. Why aren’t you satisfied? Why aren’t I?

With these last words, the flood converges on my ears and lungs. My brothers, still beneath me, suspended by chains they forged. The water is clouded with decay. The water will serve as my grave.

Above, the Fittest numb their sorrows as practiced. Dissociation came in time for them while they tried to find the common ground between ourselves and what keeps them in the lead. It never matters what we believe when our innocence is lost.

While they try to buy more time, we lament the offerings which we gave so willingly.

Bow down to the god of shame.
